Day Fourteen: Reunited and it Feels So Good
Today was wonderful. I woke up snuggled between E and S, with K peacefully snoring on the other end. After telling E's mother the events of the previous night and cracking some jokes, I made the girls some hot chocolate. We lounged around for a few more hours, had some delicious chocolate chip pancakes (thanks Mom!) and cracked a few more jokes with a side of storytelling. A lazy morning was essential from the ridiculous night that had unfolded. When we were heading out to be dropped off, E decided to try a new route to K's house, insisting that it was faster. Long story short we spent about an hour getting to K's then my house from E's. There's nothing wrong with a short cut, but let me tell you, there are a few little problems with long-cuts.
After finally getting home I went back out to Em's. After legitimately not seeing each other in six months, I was looking forward to spending time with my long lost friend. We ended up going over to the mall for a wallet, but spent a lot more than time at the mall. We had broken our bank accounts, but also quite possibly the longest streak we hadn't seen each other. Not a win-lose situation, but just the opposite. Unfortunately, I got the zipper stuck on a dress Em was trying on, so we spent 20 or so minutes in a changing room as the mall closed around us. A few minutes later, a pair of scissors and gut-busting laughter freed Em from the jail that was cute and shiny. Seven and a half hours is a long time to spend with just one person, but with friends like Em, time is irrelevant.
