Day Seventeen: Slackeriffic Snow Day
Today was hilarious. First off, I'd like to apologize to those who follow my posts. I know I haven't been consistent with my post schedule and the last few posts have been late. I'm sorry and I'll try to be more timely in the future!
On with the post. After waking up and being given the gift of a snow day, E and I did our usual domestic thing and made breakfast. Cheesy/runny eggs, a whole pan of biscuits and some hot chocolate later, we watched the worst show in the history of reality television (Bridalplasty, ugh) and then geared up for some "optical adventures". A.K.A. shoveling the knee-high snow off the deck and the walkway. When we first got out there I played with the dogs while E did most of the manual labor but two or three breakdowns later and I joined the fun. I quickly retired to the comfy chair as E finished up the rest of the deck with a few more breakdowns. Long story short, it was completely futile to shovel so early in the day, and E had the pleasure of shoveling the same deck and walkway again. Before she shoveled a second time, C came over and he and E watched me make, or should I say attempt to make chocolate chip cookies. Everything was going smoothly until we realized that her cupboard didn't supply our baking endeavor with enough flour. A box of pancake batter was substituted and as a result, we had cookies that morphed into a patchwork of sweetness. Unfortunately I was too worked up about the fact that I spent a full 25 or so extra minutes so I didn't get a picture of the cookie quilt. It tasted great but I definitely got an earful for the interesting display. Even with the semi-failure of the semi-sweet infused treats, I'd say this snow day was a roaring success.
